about

From "Music for TAPE/BAND" (Caprice RIKS LP 35, 1972).

The texts come from randomly-chosen poems of his own, and Johnson says that he uses text-sound composition as "a means of realizing certain ideas about simultaneity, polyphony and movement which have long been found in modernistic poetry, but which proved impossible to realize within the framework of printed literature." I don't know what that means, but I like the 3-dimensional dreamlike quality of the voice treatments.

about

Anode Seattle, Washington

I've recorded under the name Anode since 1972, in much the same way that Winnie the Pooh lives under the name Sanders.

What I've recorded may not be 'music' to everyone's ears, since it includes "organized sound" and soundscapes, both real and imagined. I make no apologies; my skill set is limited.

My authentic soundscapes can be found over here:
