about

From "Electronic Music III" (Turnabout TV 34177, 1968) and "Wonderwall Music" (Apple SAPCOR 1, 1968).

Another huge figure in EM is Turkish-American composer Mimaroglu. He worked at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center throughout most of the sixties, where this piece was created. He was also the producer on literally hundreds of Atlantic Records throughout the '60s and '70s. That's what you do for money with a talent for tape recorders (as did Dockstader and Pfeiffer and Carlos). Mimaroglu is also one of EM's most vocal promoters and compilers, having been the editor of the above-mentioned "Musique Concrete." Something about the tack-piano here reminded me of "Wonderwall Music," itself an interesting exercise in studio tricks from the same year, but from an entirely different world.

about

Anode Seattle, Washington

I've recorded under the name Anode since 1972, in much the same way that Winnie the Pooh lives under the name Sanders.

What I've recorded may not be 'music' to everyone's ears, since it includes "organized sound" and soundscapes, both real and imagined. I make no apologies; my skill set is limited.

My authentic soundscapes can be found over here:
