about

From "Musique Concrête" (Candide 31025, 1969).

"L'Oisseau Chanter" is the third part of "Portraits de l'Oisseau-Qui-N'existe-Pas," music realized for the images of the painter and film director Robert Lapoujade. Bayle was born in Madagascar, studied under Messiaen, Pousseur, Stockhausen and Schaeffer, and eventually became executive director of Le Groupe de Recherches Musicales at O.R.T.F. (Office of the French Radio-Television) in Paris. This piece is a perfect example of the French Musique Concrète, which combines more traditional musical instruments with taped and tape-altered sounds into a well-integrated and seamless whole.

The cackling in the middle of it always reminds me of Jeremy Hillary Boob from "Yellow Submarine."

about

Anode Seattle, Washington

I've recorded under the name Anode since 1972, in much the same way that Winnie the Pooh lives under the name Sanders.

What I've recorded may not be 'music' to everyone's ears, since it includes "organized sound" and soundscapes, both real and imagined. I make no apologies; my skill set is limited.

My authentic soundscapes can be found over here:
